Southwestern willow flycatcher

Arundo Impact Score: 8
Status: Endangered
Range: Breeding range is southern Califorina, southern Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico and western Texas
Average size: 5-6 inches
Primary food: Flying insects
Arundo displaces the native willows and mulefat that Southwestern willow flycatchers rely on for nesting. Arundo reduces the diversity and abundance of the flying insects that provide the majority of their diet.

Prior to channelization, the willow flycatcher was considered a common breeding species along the Los Angeles river.
